Ministry Team

Rev. Tim Ravenhall

My name is Tim Ravenhall and I’m married to Susan (photo). We have three delightful children. It’s been a while since we’ve lived and breathed the city. But we’re excited to be here after 11 great years in the country. Our first love is the Lord Jesus and his great work of reconciliation at the cross. Personally, faith in Jesus has been the most liberating and transformative event for my life. My wife and I trained at Moore Theological College Sydney where we acquired a Bachelor of Theology and Bachelor of Divinity respectively. I then studied a further 2 years part-time at Christ College Burwood for a Diploma of Ministry within the Presbyterian Church and was ordained in 2007. Newcastle is a wonderful place and we long for St Andrew’s (Civic Park) and for St John’s (Mayfield) to be a marvellous blessing for the city and suburb as we seek to engage people with the great news of a real, deep, personal experience of knowing the Living God.

Dr. Eddie Bridge

Eddie's focus is to help people read, understand, and get excited about the Bible. Eddie came to faith in Christ in the early 1980s while studying engineering at the University of Queensland. He has a Masters degree in New Testament, a PhD in Old Testament, and has served as a casual staff member at Macquarie University, a lecturer at the School of Christian Studies in Sydney, and a worship leader and preacher in the lower Hunter region. Eddie joined us in 2012. He leads a bible study group, is part of the preaching team and is involved with the evening service music worship. Eddie and Wendy have two children: Jonathan and Renee.

Geoff Hicks - Choir Master

Born to a musical family and raised within the wider family of St. Andrew's congregation, Geoff tried various instruments before settling on clarinet, playing with the City of Newcastle Concert Band. Moving to Sydney with a career in IT, Geoff's early interest in singing escalated to an all-consuming passion, culminating in concurrent membership of three varsity choirs, the auditioned choir Bel a cappella and choir of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in Strathfield (singing liturgy services from Cyrillic script). In Newcastle, Geoff is currently Choir Master of the St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church choir, singing bass professionally with Choir V and is a regular soloist with Opera Hunter, having earned his stripes in competition and on tour with Echology (formerly the University of Newcastle Chamber Choir). Geoff has studied singing under Chris Allen, Rosemary Saunders, Ghillian Sullivan and Alan Hicks.
